Battery Capacity Comparison
Both the Bluetti AC70 and the exact same 768 Lifepo Battery. These batteries have a high energy density which allows them to store large amounts of power in a proportionately small space. Another benefit is their extended lifespan. The 768 Lifepo battery is built to withstand approximately 3,000 charge cycles with little performance reduction. This translates to roughly 10 years of use on average. Such high efficiency can result in lower energy expenses.
The AC70 utilizes a more powerful inverter. This translates to 20% more AC Power output than the River 2 Pro. Both models feature the ability to to temporarily raise the AC output to accommodate appliances and devices that consume larger amounts of energy. Bluetti calls this feature Power Lift, while Ecoflow refers to this function as X-Boost. Both are capable of increasing AC output to up to double the rated wattage. This is done by dropping the voltage to allow more amps. During this process, AC70 peak power peaks at up to 2,000W. The River 2 Pro Peaks at up to 1,600W.
Advantage Ecoflow River 2 Pro
The River Pro 2 is considerably smaller and lighter than the AC70, making it easier to transport by car or on foot. Both of these generators have well placed carry handles. But when it comes to traveling, the more compact size of the River Pro 2 offers the most ease and convenience.
Solar Charging Times & Solar Input Max
Using a 500W maximum solar input, the AC70 can be fully charged via solar in approximately 1.9 to 3.3 hours. Using a 220W max solar input, the River 2 Pro is capable of attaining a full charge in 4.5 to 9 hours. Be aware, the solar charge times for either of these models may be extended significantly during overcast days with reduced sunlight.
AC Charge Times

The Bluetti AC70
We feel the Bluetti AC70's significant power advantage gives this model the edge. While the AC70is priced somewhat higher than the River 2 Pro, this distinct advantage more than makes up for it.
